GFWC WOMAN'S CLUB OF OCOEE SUPPORTS:

  • HACIENDA GIRLS RANCH, a home for displaced and abused girls from 7-18 years of age.  Our financial contribution assists the Ranch in providing a home and education for these girls.  In addition to the financial support, The Woman's Club of Ocoee collects items for every day use and gifts for the holidays.
  • CAMP ROCK (Reaching Out To Cancer Kids) - Our annual financial contribution makes it possible for children with various cancers to attend this camp.
  • CANINE COMPANIONS -Our financial contributions help provide trained dogs to assist disabled people in becoming more independent.
  • HUGH O'BRIAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP - The Woman's Club of Ocoee provides financial assistant to HOBY.
  • SPECIAL OLYMPICS - A monetary contribution is given to disabled individuals so that they may participate in the Special Olympics.
  • YMCA SCHOLARSHIP FUND -The Woman's Club of Ocoee provides financial assistance for two under privileged children to attend the YMCA Summer Camp.
  • POLITICAL FORUM -The Woman's  Club of Ocoee organizes and conducts a political forum for the City of Ocoee candidates running for the seat of Mayor or Commissioner.
  • FIFTH GRADE CELEBRATION - Fifth grade students from local schools, Citrus, Clarcona, Ocoee, and Spring Lake Elementary, participate by writing essays, poems, songs, and drawing artwork that reflect a theme chosen by the Woman's Club.  The winners from each participating school are honored at a luncheon for the students and their families.  A contribution is made to each participating school's media center.

  • WESTSIDE TECHNICAL CENTER SCHOLARSHIP - The Woman's Club of Ocoee provides financial assistance for the continued education of an underprivileged young woman who may have faced abuse, displacement, or trouble in their life.  The recipient is given an opportunity to focus on self-improvement that enables the development of leadership skills or tools for a successful future.

The Woman's Club of Ocoee continues to operate under the early club member's motto in being a 'service organization'.
